Examinations
Course Examinations: Course examinations are given periodically during the academic semester. Requests for excused absences for exams must be made in writing as outlined in the DCOM DO Student Handbook. Students who miss an exam without prior notification must meet with the Assistant/Associate Dean of Students at their location as soon as possible, who will decide if the absence is excused or unexcused. If the absence is unexcused, the student will receive a zero for that exam.
Make-up exams for students with excused absences will be given within seven (7) days of the original exam date. Students with excused absences will not be penalized in terms of grading. If the final course grades must be submitted to the registrar prior to the date of the make-up exam, the students will receive a grade of “Incomplete” (I). Once the student takes the make-up exam, his/her final course grade will be calculated and submitted to the registrar. The “Incomplete” grade will then be changed to the grade the student achieved in the course.
