A Ph.D. candidate who has fulfilled all the academic requirements for graduation may be granted the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, provided the student has fulfilled the following requirements:
- Passed their qualifying exams
- Successfully completed all required course work and electives with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Submitted at least one manuscript for publication
- Successfully defended their dissertation
- Obtained Dissertation Committee approval of the final dissertation
- Has submitted their approved dissertation through ProQuest
